Limestone is a porous natural stone and absorbs stains and liquids very easily and quickly . The porous attributes of limestone vary based upon the type of finish applied to its surface, i.e. polished finish or honed finish.
Professionally sealing limestone will not completely prevent liquid spills from absorbing into it, but it can slow down the absorption process so that you have more time to wipe it up.
We recommend that you seal your limestone ’s surface after a deep cleaning at least one per year, depending on foot traffic for that area.
