A customer called us to book our slate floor polishing service. Slate floors are very attractive, but they could also be vulnerable because of their softness and porousness. Slate easily absorbs stains and dirt, so it loses its charming appearance over the years. The slate floor we inspected was really filthy and we had to remove somehow all the deeply embedded dirt. The task we were faced was not an easy one and we had to cope with it well.
After our team arrived at the address, we discussed our prices with the home owner. He agreed that our price list is competitive and affordable, so we immediately started working. We had to polish the tiles really hard, giving them a complete makeover.
Our experience with stone floors has taught us that we have tо use only “made for slate” type products. We are familiar with the structure of the stone and we know how to clean it without clogging the pores and causing future damages. The customer wanted it polished to a low sheen that accents more on the color of the tiles. We did our best to clean thoroughly the tiles, paying special attention to the joints, where dirt is most visible. In the end, we were tired but happy – everything was noticeably clean and the floors looked their best. Slate needs regular cleaning, the customer was very pleased with the results, so he promised to hire us again when needed.
